NC DMV - Major Robert Sawyer

Early on, My Owner contacted Major Sawyer to see if FA had in fact transmitted the results of a "failed" NC State Safety Inspection to the NC DMV.    Major Sawyer informed My Owner that the NC DMV had no record of any failed inspection.
     (( This in stark contrast to FA telling My Owner that her Solara had failed the NC State Safety Inspection she had requested hours earlier. ))

NC DMV - Inspector Love

Armed with the knowledge that FA had already violated the NC State Safety Inspection regulations by performing an inspection requested by a motorist, he visited FA on May 18, 2020 and met with the General manager and the Service Director.   As a result of that meeting, we have been told that a NC Form LT-609 was issued that documented FA's regulatory violation/s.   We have not seen this document; FA has told us twice that they have received no disciplinary or advisory warning from the DMV.   It would appear that someone is not being straight with us, to put it mildly.

NC DMV - Captain Troxler

Captain Troxler told us Fred Anderson was not in compliance with DMV regulations.   He told us that a NC Form LT-609 citation, reprimand, warning, sanction, etc. was issued as a result of My Owner's complaint.
    (( We still don't know the correct term to use nor do we have a copy of this document.   We believe the NC AG also does not have a copy; but we assume that both the DMV and FA both have a copies of it.  ))

NC Attorney General - Office of Consumer Protection

My Owner filed a formal consumer complaint using the 13 Prohibited Acts and Practices outlined in the NC Motor Vehicle Repair Act as a format.

The AG's Office forwarded our complaint to  FA for their comment.  Fred Anderson responded with what we believed were several misleading statements.   None of FA's assertions were supported by documentation.   My Owner responded to FA's misrepresentations with a 13 point rebuttal.   She pointed out several instances where she believes FA misrepresented several items in writing to the NC AG's Office.

The several misrepresentations in FA's first response did not go unnoticed by the NC AG's Office.   Assistant Attorney General Dixon on May 10, 2021 wrote what we've been referring to as the ALL documents request.

Consequently, we request that FA produce to this Office, within seven (7) days of the date of this letter, 1) all documents that discuss, reflect, show identify, or in any way relate to FA’s inspecting, servicing, and/or repairing of (redacted)’s vehicle, including but not limited to the repair orders signed by (redacted)'s and all other documents signed by the consumer and 2 ) to the extent not provided in response to 1) above, all documents you refer to, or which otherwise support the assertions, in your June 24, 2020 response to our office.

FA responded to the NC AG's request for ALL documents by sending FIVE service documents (two of those five were duplicates.   We believe that this response represents only a small fraction of the documents they could have and should have provided.
